What is this?
A sturdy, 45cm tall desktop stand that holds Quest 2 and Quest 3 in a comfortable hanging position.
What is it for?
This stand is useful for development and debugging, when you need to often switch between checking what happens in the Quest and what happens on the computer screen. For example, I use this during development to test online multiplayer with multiple devices- that's why I made it! It keeps Quest mostly at eye level when sitting normally at the desk, so you can just move your head sideways to look inside the headset, without having to wear it each time. It's recommended to remove the headset strap for best use.
Design notes
The top part of the stand is the widest I could make it to fit the lowest IPD setting. The upper part of the stand is sloped to both leave some space for the nose, and to rest the headset at a flat angle. The base is cross-shaped to keep it from toppling and to avoid wasting space around it. The interlocking wasn't really necessary but I wanted to experiment with it to add some sturdiness. Inspired by flyspamon's Simple Quest 3 Stand, but designed from scratch by me. Not tested on Quest 1, Quest Pro and Quest 3S.
