Floor Mop Hack

One major annoyance of mine is manufacturers creating a product that requires you to purchase consumables specifically designed for that product by them called "Vendor Lock-In". In my defiance of this practice this is my latest design. It is a Wet Floor Mop Hack (label removed to protect my innocence). Drill a 3/4" hole in the disposable tank. This particular popular brand which we will fictitiously name "spiffer" has a bottom thickness of 2mm which this was designed for. Any heavy plastic bottle should work well as long as it isn't more than that. Heat the plastic with a hair dryer to soften it just a bit, press fit the plug firmly into the hole and VOILA you've got a refillable tank which is much greener for the ecology not to mention cheaper on the pocket book.
