Descrizione

Parametric model (in Rhino / Grasshopper) for generating simple cabinetry knobs, drawer pulls, etc. I've included two of the generated STLs.

The larger part - lamp_top.stl - has a hole that threads onto a 1/4-20 screw (with my printer settings).

The smaller parts - door_pull_1.stl and door_pull_2.stl - threaded onto an existing screw that was in a piece of furniture. I believe this was a #8 wood screw, but I'm not 100% sure.

To use the Grasshopper definition, sketch and set a curve on the XZ plane (see a pic above) for the revolution. This curve should be "open" on the left and bottom sides. The Grasshopper definition will move the input curve, make the revolution, and generate the bottom face and blind hole for the object. Sliders are in place to control the dimensions. Note: For a pure revolution (as if made on a lathe), set the Y scale to exactly 1. For the lamp_top.stl file, I used a larger Y-scale to stretch the part.

Enjoy!
