LED Spotlight with Diffuser

I liked the Par64 Spotlight by Domonoky, but I needed something shorter.

Modifications to the original part include the following:

• The spotlight body is much shorter.
• The spotlight body includes a hole for LED wiring.
• The vents are functional rather than decorative.
• Uses standard M3 screws (along with printed washers) to attach U-bracket.
• All but one part will print without supports (U-bracket needs a tiny amount).

Additions to the design include:

• An LED Holder, which accommodates seven 5mm LEDs.
• A diffuser, which should be printed in "clear" or "natural" PLA.
• A retaining ring, which prevents the diffuser from falling out the front.

Body Assembly:

• Print one of each part except the washers.
• Print two washers.
• Insert M3 screws of an appropriate length through the holes in the U-bracket.
• Place one washer on each M3 screw.
• Place spotlight body into U-bracket. Tighten M3 screws (just enough to hold).

LED Parts Assembly:

• Acquire seven 5mm, 12VDC LEDs prewired with resistors (http://a.co/bEdHRRG)
• Insert seven 5mm LEDs into the LED holder. Use a drop of CA glue to hold each in place.
• Solder all LED anode leads together, then solder these to a +12V power lead.
• Solder all LED cathode leads together, then solder these to a ground power lead.
• Feed the power leads into the large opening in the spotlight body, and out through the small hole at the rear.
• Insert the LED + Holder bundle into the spotlight body and glue it into place, recessing it about 2mm.
• Add the diffuser, if you printed it, and secure it by gluing the retaining ring into place.

The photographed spotlight was printed in brass PLA.
